During the cold winter months of December and January WOW will show a warm presentation with work of the young fashion labels Wintervacht, Winter in Holland, Luc Aarts and photographer Lieke Romeijn. Also Rachelle Klaassen with her ‘Plantenasiel’ is joining the project.
Wintervacht
Wintervacht is a small and young brand founded by designers Yoni van Oorsouw and Manon van Hoeckel. They make clothing from second hand materials (like Dutch woolen blankets and vintage curtains) that have proven and kept their quality. These carefully selected materials are washed and ironed before they go to our design department and are transformed into clothing. All products are handmade in the Netherlands in limited editions. The differences in prints and colors make every piece unique.
Winter in Holland
After graduating at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute , Anouk van der Laan started her company ‘Winter in Holland‘ in 2012. She began by producing scarves in her living room made with materials sourced from Ireland and South Africa. Those first knits created a buzz and eventually became Anouk’s first collection. From its earliest beginnings Winter in Holland’s collections have focused on combining high quality beautiful yarns and hand made craftsmanship. Anouk differentiates herself by producing every product by hand and personalizing each one.
Luc Aarts
Luc Aarts is a Dutch Shoe designer and graduated from the Artez Design Academy. Inspired by wool fabrics and using Harris Tweed and wool sweaters from Dale of Norway his graduation collection has been showing to great acclaim at exhibitions at the GDS (Germany), Dutch Design Week and at the Dutch Shoe Museum. Using a combination of classic techniques and hints of street wear, Aarts takes a traditional English gentleman’s item and creates a new version of the classic brogue shoe using Harris Tweed for the upper and forming the brogue details with spray paint.
Plantenasiel
Also Rachelle Klaassen is joining the presentation by bringing some of the plants from her ‘Plantenasiel‘ (Plant asylum) and let them overwinter at WOW..
